Annual General Meeting: April 12

Join us for the McKernan Community League Annual General Meeting

Tuesday April 12 at the Community Centre starting at 7 p.m. IN PERSON or ONLINE.

On the agenda:

Election of officers (secretary, treasurer, directors-at-large)

Year-end business (annual financials, president’s report, membership fees)


Meet the executive, find out how you can help, discuss your concerns.


The positions of secretary, treasurer and two director-at-large positions are open for election for two-year terms. Candidates have been nominated for secretary, treasurer and one director but we are still seeking nominations/volunteers for the second director position.


The Board would particularly like to have representation from a younger community member (university student or young adult), but all are welcome. If you are keen on helping to make connections in the community, we’d love to hear from you.


About the positions:

  • Director-at-large: Attends meetings of the league and the Board, and carries out League business as required.

  • Treasurer: Works with bookkeeper to track fees and income paid to the league; presents a detailed account of revenues and expenditures at every Board and General Meeting; presents an audited financial statement at the Annual General Meeting.

  • Secretary: Keeps minutes of the league, the Board and the Executive Committee, sends notices of meetings, and manages the Board correspondence.
